Our little almost dried-up channel is up about six inches. That means there is five feet of rain to go before we can enjoy the invasion of boaters in our back yard again. Our three nutria are feeling the strain of a flooded den and are having a morning swim. We’re slogging in red clay and loving it-sort of. There is a down side, of course. The Dallas Morning News states it perfectly – too much rain, too quickly. Nearly nine inches in some areas, flooding, and a death. It doesn’t take many inches to cause problems.

Of course, once we dry out we’ll be complaining about the heat. The weather always gives us something to talk about – no matter where we are.
